<a href="http://kansieo.com/">Caffeinated Content</a>

I'm a Kindle 2 owner so let me try to answer your questions:

1. Yes, it doesn't have jump ahead or back feature, which is a very good function in Kindle 1. However, I found some workaround so I have had very little problem navigating through books. I normally use the search function, say when I look into the table of content I'll just search with the chapter number or chapter title and I can find that chapter easily. When I want to come back later to an exact position within a chapter, I'll just drop down a few words and I can find the position back next time. Yes, you can use the bookmark function too.

2. It comes with a power adapter, so you can charge it either through wall power or through USB connected to computers.

3. Yes, you can. For example, when you go to the newspaper below, you can see there is a button on the right hand side, which says "Buy Current Issue $0.75":

If you are thinking of buying one, I'll say get it and you won't regret. I love my Kindle 2 very much. You know, since Amazon provides books for the Kindle cheaper than actual books, it has saved me quite a lot of money. Right now I've read over 10 books with the Kindle, and I really like the idea that I can bring and store all the books with the handy device. Besides, it uses the e-ink technology, so even I read with the device for long hours, I don't feel tired. My only complaint is the white case, right now all the Kindles are in white color... I think it will be cool if I can have a black or deep blue color Kindle ;)

I recommend you to read this review too. It outlines quite a lot of benefits of the Kindle 2:

Hope it helps.

The Kindle is much better than the Sony Reader. Read this review, it is the best comparison between the Sony Reader and the Kindle:

I don't think there will be color screen for the ebook readers soon. There doesn't seem to be a big need of it. Actually other than pictures, almost all paper books we are reading are just black and white...

I think the Kindle is better, but no color for any of them anytime soon. The Kindle 2 is easier to read than older versions and has a lot more features. I love mine and wouldn't go back to paper books and killing trees!

<a href="http://kansieo.com">amazon kindle</a>

I'll suggest you to get the Kindle instead of the Sony Reader. Read the review here to know more:

I own the Kindle 2 and I like it very much. It is better than Sony Reader because Amazon provide good content support, and the number of books available in Kindle format is kept on increasing (right now there are over 300,000 Kindle books). Sony Reader, however, many users complaint that it is difficult to find suitable books. Other benefits of the Kindle over Sony Reader include the free wireless internet access, and the text-to-speech function.

There aren't any color version right now, and I think it is still a bit far from that right now. One of the problems is that the battery life will be much shorter (right now you can read with the Kindle for days without recharging) as color screen will consume much more power. Another thing is the screen readability. Right now we can read with the Kindle really like reading paper books, but with color screen it will be a completely different story.

If you often read PDF, you may want to go for the Kindle DX. Read this review and you should be able to decide which one to get:

Hope this helps.

<a href="http://mycaffeinatedcontent.com">Website content</a>

I'm a Kindle 2 owner. I think you should definitely go for the Kindle. Here is a comparison of it with the latest model of the Sony Reader:

The advantage of the Kindle over Sony Reader include free wireless access, more content support, and the text-to-speech function. I like the text-to-speech function especially, because I can "read" books without even holding or looking at the Kindle. Now I like to use this function when I've myself busy on some boring things, say when I'm on the step machine or doing some housework...

I love my Kindle because it has helped me improve a lot on my efficiency and utilize my time. Before I owned the Kindle, waiting time like when I'm waiting for friends or waiting for shuttle bus or some thing like that is simply wasted. Now I just need to bring the Kindle 2 along with me. It is so light weight and handy, and it makes me like to read even more than I have in the past.

I like reading and at the beginning I missed a bit on the feeling of reading books. But now I love to hold the Kindle, the e-ink seems to work very well, it is really like reading books... Now I often read with the Kindle for several hours but I don't feel tired...

This is my opinion and hope it helps. And I remember I read this review when I decide to buy the Kindle 2:

Finally, you are lucky that Amazon just announced a price slash on the Kindle 2. It is now selling $60 cheaper than the price I got my Kindle... So take the chance :)

Hope it helps.

Your best option is the Sony e-reader because there was an article on the Kindle saying that it mysteriously erases some stories once you have gotten them. I am pretty sure that they will come out in other colors they always do that. Well good luck!

If you're going to buy the DX (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00154JDAI?ie=UTF8&tag=innovatincuba-20 ) and you want to add a little style, try buying a skin for it. Because the DX is a bit larger, you can custom fit a laptop skin to fit your Kindle.
Just an idea!

Yes, Amazon is the only place you can order the Kindle 2. Right now they do not accept order outside United States, so I know some people outside United States will get from their friends here.

If the books you originally own is one of the supported formats like PDF or Word then you can convert them to Kindle format for free and copy to the Kindle. Here is an extract from the Kindle page on how this works. The sales page and actual customer review should give every thing you need to know already.

---------------------------------
Personal Documents

Kindle makes it easy to take your personal documents with you, eliminating the need to print. Each Kindle has a unique and customizable e-mail address. You can set your unique email address on your Manage Your Kindle page. This allows you and your approved contacts to e-mail Word, PDF documents, and pictures wirelessly to your Kindle for a small per document fee--currently only 10¢ per document. Kindle supports wireless delivery of unprotected Microsoft Word, PDF, HTML, TXT, JPEG, GIF, PNG, BMP, PRC and MOBI files.

You can email your PDFs wirelessly to your Kindle. Due to PDF's fixed layout format, some complex PDF files may not format correctly on your Kindle.

If you are not in a wireless area or would like to avoid the fee, you can send attachments to "name"@free.kindle.com to be converted and e-mailed to your computer at the e-mail address associated with your Amazon.com account login. You can then transfer the document to your Kindle using your USB connection. For example, if your Kindle email address is, send your attachments to.
