Kindle: Amazon’s 6″ Wireless Reading Device (Latest Generation)

It’s totally inexcusable for an ebook reader not to be able to read the most popular format for ebooks. Not been able to read PDF ebooks, renders the thing completely useless.

No doubt this has been done deliberately so one has to buy the ebooks from Amazon, in the Kindle’s own proprietary DRM’d format.

True that. An ebook reader which cant read PDF ebooks, well that’s about as much use as a chocolate kettle.

Here in the UK the Sony is the clear winner. The Kindle just wouldn’t work, there is no EV-DO network.

See how big the screen the kindle has. It is a ebook reader and the reading area is key! This is not even mentioned here.

Wireless connection… Hmm… how often do you need to download a book outdoors?

Almost all of my existing ebooks are in PDF format and I don’t need the order online feature.

The mere fact that the Kindle has wikipedia support, a browser, and EV-DO should give it twice the points of that Sony piece of junk (in comparison).

Pathetic shilling for Amazon. The Kindle 2′s horrible non-support for Word/PDF is inexcusable. SONY wins hands down.

they had it decided who would win.
in the last round the reader should have won by more than .3
i think the wireless is bad for people like me who would be too tempted to by books all the time… uh yeah.

And why do you morons value a TOUCHSCREEN and a LIGHT just by 0.3 points more, instead of 1.7 as in the comparisons before? This test is a good piece of bullshit.

this week or earlier a couple of hundred thousand books were added to Sony’s library, in a exclusive deal with Google. The number of books Sony have available now is greater than Amazon’s.

No mention of the PRS-700′s search features, it’s ability to highlight text and to add annotations?
